It’s that time of year to wax poetic of 2017 accomplishments, highlights and reflect on the year’s oops moments.

I started my Instagram home decor account in late 2016 around the beginning of the holidays. And now look, a full year has come to an end!
I distinctly recall the burning feeling I had growing up, wanting so badly to hurry up time and well, grow up.
Fast forward to today and now adulting let alone parenting definitely challenges my inner tween.
Top Blog Posts of 2017
I am seeing quite a bit of year in review on the various social media platforms and blogs. So, why not join in on the fun? Can you guess what my top most viewed blog posts were?
It was fun to go on Google Analytics and see what you loved most!
First up, was my Holiday Gift Guide for 2017!

I was pleasantly surprised!
Truth, I wasn’t sure if you wanted another gift guide. But now I know!
In the new year, I plan to send out a survey to you because my job is to give you all the current design Inspo and tips out there! So what better way to deliver accurately then ask the direct source. You! My design bestie!
DIY Holiday Branch Wall
My second most popular blog post was my winter refresh for the DIY branch wall.
My heart beams thinking that you loved it as much as I did! Like I mentioned in the post, I almost took it down because I felt perhaps it was near its end for inspiration.
I was SO wrong. And I am happy in this case, I was wrong. Cos usually I hate being wrong.
Just ask Travis. LOL.
DIY $40 Kitchen Countertops
Honestly, I thought the DIY kitchen countertops would be the top fav of the year.
All hats off to Travis for making this DIY happen.
By no means am I the patient one between the two of us. He meticulously, painstakingly cut around odd shaped corners, used a heat gun and pulled and stretched the contact paper over round edges.
And now we all get to enjoy a light and bright kitchen daily!
I am still stunned at the transformation all for $40! (And a lot of Travis’ patience!)
Budget Bathroom Makeover
My next top post was on the woes of an outdated 90s master bathroom.
See the builder grade cabinets and tile? Mismatched knobs I had attempted to update and refresh but lost interest.
This space is begging and I mean desperately calling for a makeover. But once again, our budget isn’t allowing for one, yet.
I am planning a few ways to perhaps make it work next year in time for the spring 2018 One Room Challenge. The thought makes my adrenaline shoot up a million times faster and also paralyzes me numb.
Why Anita? you ask. Cos as exciting as it sounds, I am intimidated by the myriad of decisions that will have to be permanent.
This is my inspo for the space!

Once we remodel, it will have to stay this way for many, many years to come. It’s not like paint where I can just change it in one weekend. Know what I mean? Of course, the opportunity to gut this room is obvy a big 2018 goal!
New Year Goals
So as I wrap up this last post for 2017, I sit here so full of gratitude. Yes, yes we hear everyone say that a lot, believe me, I mean it.
Never in a million years, if you would have told me I would be here blogging my design thoughts direct to you, would I have believed it. Let alone being recognized by Domino Magazine for it!
For so many years I thought, oh Anita, your time has passed. Blogging is so saturated. Who wants to hear from you?
Now I know, YOU want to hear from me! And I want to hear from you!
The feelings are mutual!
So let’s do this, my design bestie. Let’s take 2018 by the horns and ride it high!
We are in on this design journey together!
Happy New Year!! It’s going to be good. Reaaaal good.
