It’s been awhile my design besties! Did you miss me over here? I sure miss y’all!!
After we returned home from our amazing Alaskan cruise, we were all SOOOO sick with some evil virus and just like that, school started. And then you know how crazy it gets! But I am back full force, laser focused ready to bring you the best design inspo, everyday life hacks and musings.
Since we are catching up on lost time, let’s do a Short+Sweet fall edit!
Living in the land of no seasons and sunshine, I do not get to experience the excitement of changing wardrobes each season. Growing up in Seattle, I loved bringing out my comfy thick Fair Isle sweater like this one from Vince. The neutral colors pair well with corduroy pants, jeans or a skirt.

When I think of Brooks Brothers, I think of their menswear, but their women’s sweater selection has really impressed me and the quality is certain. I have worn similar to these classic sweaters for 20 years. Definitely worth paying for the quality!

And when discussing wardrobe, how can we not dish about boots for the fall season? I am a petite gal and have never fared well with mid calf boots or higher. My legs are too short and the boots always land in the most awkward places! So I prefer booties! No hassle of asking my hubby to pull the boots off me either. Just that alone makes me say no thank you! Yes, I am a lazy fashionista for sure!
I have said it before, but with flat feet like mine, any type of shoes need to be COMFORTABLE first! And Splendid shoes never, ever disappoint. I am not lyin’!!

And what is an edit without adding some fall decor into the mix? To be honest, I am not ready for Fall. But I am ready to delve into some fall decor. Changing things up always gets my creative juices flowing.
With October and November coming up, the color orange immediately comes to mind. I was browsing yes, browsing the Target end cap aisles for deals. You know they put all the clearance stuff on end caps right? Perf place to look for bargains, my friends!
Well, the new Threshold rugs were not on sale but wow did it inspire me! Take a look at this one I literally bought yesterday. I am planning a fall re-vamp in the desert abode room so stay tuned!!
It is so new that apparently, it is not up on their Target website yet! Once it is, I will def provide a link.
Throw blankets and pillows are another easy way to mix orange into your home’s fall decor.
I am going to be very honest with you. I haven’t shopped Pottery Barn in awhile but once I started perusing, they definitely have a great seasonal collection for holiday decor. And they pull it off in a classy, timeless manner. Don’t you agree?

Here are some lovely pillow options too. Gah, I love pillows in any season.

If you can resist this pillow, then all hats off to ya! This West Elm Mongolian lamb pillow cover has me wanting to get in the car to buy it at the store now! It not only adds a deep sultry copper color to your sofa for the fall but the soft fuzzy texture visually entices you to come sit and chill for awhile.

Artful pillows like this one from Urban Outfitters evokes a theme into your space. I am not usually a fan of too many pillows with words or sayings but something subtle like this can be timeless.
So whether we are ready or not, fall is here to enjoy!
Happy day!
