If you’ve been dreaming about a new bathroom for as long as I had been then read on my friend! As you know, I’m all about sharing genuinely good products made by companies with good values.

Last June, the Delta Faucet brand was gracious enough to fly me out to their headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana where I took a tour and got to know each department. The process of how they come up with such wonderful faucets and fixtures amazed me!

I had such a wonderful time. My biggest takeaway was seeing how Delta employees felt like a part of a family. This family philosophy extends to how each Delta piece is designed with thoughtfulness and intention.

Master Bathroom Reveal: Matte Black Finish

I have been a fan of using black as an accent for design since I was young. My dad is an architect and he loves Scandinavian and modern design. He had many design books laying around and I remember flipping through big books that featured black metal finishes and natural wood elements.

I think this is an integral reason for my master bath design. I found myself subconsciously channeling all that early design influence into this project.

First up was finding fixtures that had the right Matte Black finish.

Believe it or not, it’s a pretty tough job!

However, I was quite pleased that Delta offered so many of their great looks in the coveted Matte Black finish.

Currently, I have more than a handful of client bathroom renovations going on and I am surprised how many of them requested black finishes.

Even if they didn’t present as modern aesthetic, they wanted the pop of black in their space.

Of course, I was thrilled. And I had so many great designs in different styles all in black.white oak vanity delta faucet black matte mirror

Master Bathroom Reveal: How to choose the right style

If you are dreaming up or currently renovating a bathroom, I am so glad you are reading!

My passion is to share my experience as a designer and home renovator. I love giving you the perspective of both!

Then you can soak in my design Inso and also learn from the ups and downs I learn as well from construction and renovations.

As I mentioned earlier, I had the privilege of visiting Delta last summer and I experienced SO much fixture design.

For this particular space, I wanted something with clean lines, not too industrial and straight, not too fancy and curvy.

I had seen the Trinsic® Bath Collection in a variety of Pinterest and Instagram designs. And usually I like to choose things in my own style that haven’t been done before. However, I simply couldn’t say no to Trinsic.

It sincerely has the best of both worlds. The curved lines make for an elegant yet modern look that allow you to mix and match aesthetics seamlessly. That is why you see farmhouse sinks and full on Fixer Upper decor with the Trinsic Faucet front and center.

Conversely, you also see the Trinsic Faucet in an ultra modern Leanne Ford designed kitchen as well.

For my bathroom, the Trinsic Two Handle Widespread Bathroom Faucet  was indicative of my exact design personality. Some may call me this way or that, but in the end I feel my style is right the middle of ultra clean lines and yet infused with pattern play and textures.

And that is exactly how you should decide your style when it comes to fixtures. Think about your design personality. Forget what the trend is for this year, although it is fun to keep up with what is new and fresh.

I have been really into calming my mind, meditating and infusing positive thoughts from my brain to my heart and once you achieve peace, good things come to you.

I believe it is the same with designing your home. Calm your brain, sit in silence, visualize things that make you happy. Connect your brain, heart and home together.

For me, I feel incredibly grateful Delta was a part of this design process.

Waiting 10 years for all of this to come true wasn’t easy, but in the end it was so worth it!

Master Bathroom Reveal: Water Conservation

I love my bath time but saving water is a top priority in our household. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, means that I am pretty conscious of our footprint on Planet Earth.

We recycled, composted and conserved. And we are trying to pass it along to the girls.

Travis is probably even more intentional than me! Short of standing there with a stopwatch, the girls know Daddy means business about not wasting water.

A real assurance that aligned with this priority of ours is the Delta Faucet brand’s commitment to water conservation. Their H2Okinetic® Technology controls the speed, movement and droplet size of the water, which creates the feeling of more water while using less.

Delta H2Okinetic® shower heads definitely allows us to enjoy a wonderful refreshing experience daily while at the same time being conscientious about the environment and saving on the water bill for a family of 5.

I knew that I wanted the ultimate spa experience. Waiting ten years tends to do that to you!

True story: my plumber had to come back and fix the diverter because they assumed a three diverter was enough. Turns out with all the options I wanted, we needed a six diverter.

Yeah, I took treat yo self to the next level!

Master Bathroom Reveal: Free standing Tub Fixtures

When we first moved in here in 2009, I was ecstatic about having a roman tub. I had lived with a one piece shower and tub situation all my life.

So many years of just being happy as clam in the 1997 white square tiled roman tub was fine.

Just fiiiiine.

But in the back of my mind, I dreamed of soaking in a freestanding tub, while enjoying some music and scented candles. Maybe some chocolate bon bons!

Fast forward to the current day, and my dream come true! Because Now? I get my spa bath experience any time I want!

One design choice I had to make was whether or not to have a wall mounted tub filler or a floor mount tub filler.

I hate clutter and for some reason the floor mount in this tiny space didn’t make sense. Where would it even go? So I decided the Contemporary Wall Mounted Tub Filler was well suited for the tiny space and my design goal.

If you have a larger space and say the plumbing isn’t conducive for a wall mount, the floor mount can actually add to the architectural feature of the bathroom.

Master Bathroom Reveal: Gratitude while Refreshing Each Day

It isn’t a surprise that I’m always going on and on about wellness. With my therapist background, it’s my belief that our thoughts and words directly affect our mindset.

Once you have the opportunity to create a space for wellness in your home, I highly recommend you intentionally think about how it can create a sense of calmness for yourself.

What colors, textures and functions helps induce getting in touch with your inner self?

Water is a tactile sensory experience. I am so pleased that I was able to create a daily sensory experience in here with products from Delta.

I am forever in gratitude for your support in taking interest in my design journey as well. You guys encourage me every day to share genuine design experiences and to that, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Happy day!

Beautiful space! Where is the light fixture from?

    • Anita Yokota says:

Thank you Francesca! It’s from Target and I am trying very hard to find a link for it. I am afraid it might be discontinued! Eek! I hope not.

  2. Kandid Scott says:

Hi love!!! Where are the mirrors from!? They’re amazing!

    • Anita Yokota says:

Thank you! They are custom but if you find a local mirror company to measure your space they can make one too. It shouldn’t be too expensive because its a light piece of glass and simple frame!

  3. Stephanie says:

      Hi Ann! I will try!

    • Kaitlin says:

Your vanity is gorgeous! We are looking to have one custom made and I love this warm wood look. Do you remember what stain you used??

      • Anita Yokota says:

It is a custom white wash stain. If you show your cabinet trade, he can try to mimic it. The best way is to give them something that you love. It can be anything like a chair or end cap shelf at a store (take pics) and you go from there! xo

      • Anita Yokota says:

It is custom but ask your cabinet trade to see if he can copy it. They are really good at that!

  6. Donna says:

  11. Margie says:

This bathroom is beautiful and I’m in love with this vanity. I know you said it was custom, how would I go about contacting someone to make me a piece similar to this?

    • Anita Yokota says:

Hi Margie! It is super easy. You can find a contractor that you trust and his cabinet guy can make it for you. Or you go straight to a cabinetry trade. You can show them this inspo pic. I found that for my clients and myself, it is often comparable prices or less than buying retail!

  12. Gina says:

Such a gorgeous bathroom. I love the blend of modern and vintage. Can you share where your sconces are from?

  13. Elise says:
