We just came back from our annual trip to the Dez for Memorial Day weekend. And with two weeks of school left, summer vibes have already started to show its sunny face in our home.

All of our favorite summer seasonal fruits have appeared and we are so happy!

Nectarines are one of our favorites and it gave me some inspiration to style up our dining room table for summer.

Adding fresh fruit

And I do mean fresh fruit to your summer table! Fresh fruit evokes immediate cravings for sweet, juicy healthy goodness.

Adding a simple white bowl   like this one from Crate and Barrel with your favorite colorful stone fruit is simple yet stunning.

I love wide, low serving bowls that are multifunctional. Use them for decorative objects, fruit, oh and yes, actual food like pasta. However, they can even act as planters too!

Metal decorative bowls work well on dining tables too.

Think beyond the coffee table.

When it comes to design, be brave and try it out!

Dining Storage

Did you notice my vintage Broyhill Brasilia Credenza in the back? I am testing out the idea of a credenza behind the dining table.

I will be the first to point out that the credenza MCM style and the Article Scandinavian Dining table may not be the most compatible.

But for now, it gives me a good visual and feel of what it would be like. I am always hesitant to fill up a space with furniture.

Believe it or not, I am a true minimalist at heart.

I am quite the clutter freak. But there is a very good reason for having functional storage in every dining room. Here are a few buffet/credenza/hutch (so many names for the same thing amirite?) that I am thinking of!

This Article Madera Oak Sideboard makes the most sense because it is complementary to our current table.

It definitely would look fabulous!

Another contrasting option would be the Bios sideboard.

Either way, having storage options is a must in dining rooms of any size.

.

The pops of black metal and white top would give the wall more contrast from the table.

Plant babies of course!

If you are familiar with my home, you know I adore styling with plants. They are the easiest way to breathe life into any space. I think I have repeated this design thought with you countless of times already.

The blush planters from The Sill always make me well, blush with adoration. It matches and pops a design scene anywhere you put it.

I never tire of it! And that speaks volumes. Generally I am quite fickle with colors. It may very well be my ultimate neutral tone.

Candelabra Centerpiece

I love simple centerpieces. It just makes me so happy to visually see the clean lines and design on the table.

This simple one that I am sure you have already seen in many homes on Instagram or Pinterest is from Anthropologie. I adore it.

Summer Linens

And I would be remiss to not mention good linens on your table. Summer linens remind me of fresh picnics. Parachute Home offers the most soft yet rustic napkins and placemats.

As I was writing this post, I noticed they just rolled out a new fringe design for napkins, placemats and a runner!

I am a huge fan of fringe on textiles. I just might have to get one!

Are you getting the itch to freshen up your dining room space too? Every season comes a new chapter of design in your home.

There is no need to go out and buy new items every time the season changes.  If you have the 5 staples I noted here today, you can shuffle them around seasonally and around around the home shuffle goes!

Always fun to talk design with you! Now I am off to work on a new dining room for a client. Do you think they would love these ideas too?

Happy day!
