Imagine stepping onto the set of the Drew Barrymore Show, nerves tingling with excitement as you prepare to share your passion with millions. That’s exactly where I found myself, ready to discuss my book, Home Therapy, with the effervescent Drew Barrymore herself. The anticipation was electric, knowing that Drew’s love for both home decor and mental health would make this conversation truly special.

As the show began, I felt a rush of excitement and anticipation. Drew Barrymore, known for her passion for both furniture and mental wellness, immediately connected with the concept of my book. She described it as groundbreaking and emphasized its importance for everyone. Hearing her praise was not only humbling but also incredibly validating. To have someone with her influence endorse my work was a moment I will never forget.

During the segment, we delved into the core principles of my book: creating spaces that promote mental well-being and strengthen relationships within the home. Drew’s genuine interest and understanding of these concepts made the conversation flow effortlessly. We discussed the impact of our surroundings on our mood and behaviors, and how intentional design choices can enhance our daily lives.

Additionally, I couldn’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia as I sat on the couch across from her and the equally amazing Ross Mathews. It was Drew Barrymore who unknowingly played a pivotal role in solidifying my decision to transition from 20 years of therapy to interior design when I first started out. Walmart had asked me to help promote her new Flower Bathroom collection and it meant the world to me to help. As I stood before her, it felt like coming full circle, and being able to express my gratitude to her in person was an indescribable moment of validation.

One of the most memorable parts of the show was the room makeover we did for a viewer named Becca. Her small family room was overrun with oversized furniture and toys, making it difficult for her family to truly enjoy the space. Drew and I surprised Becca with a complete makeover, providing her with new decor and furniture to transform her room into a haven of comfort and tranquility. Additionally, Drew gifted her an extra $5,000 to ensure she had everything she needed to create a flourishing living space for her family.

Witnessing Becca’s emotional reaction to the transformation was incredibly moving. It reinforced the power of design to positively impact not only our physical surroundings but also our emotional well-being. By creating a space that nurtures connection and harmony, we can cultivate stronger relationships and happier lives.

As I reflect on my experience on the Drew Barrymore Show, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to share my passion for mental wellness through interior design. Drew’s genuine support and enthusiasm for my book reaffirmed the importance of this work and inspired me to continue spreading its message far and wide.

I am deeply thankful to Drew Barrymore and her team for inviting me onto the show and for their unwavering commitment to promoting mental health and well-being. Together, we can create homes that not only look beautiful but also nurture our minds and souls.

The audience got a surprise from Drew too. It was so exciting to give a copy to every single audience member!

If you missed my appearance on the Drew Barrymore Show, be sure to grab a copy of Home Therapy and start transforming your home into a sanctuary of mental wellness today.

I can’t wait to hear your own Home Therapy story and how you’re connecting with the transformative power of intentional design.

Cheers,

Anita
