It’s the beginning of May and I am so happy spring is in full swing! The sun is consistently out and wow! What a difference it makes on one’s mood.

Besides just talking interiors,  I am going to share my “short and sweet” lifestyle edit once a month! The format will be straightforward, a variety of topics shared and most of all, fun! Exactly what I am made of. 🙂

Speaking of May, Mother’s day is coming up! Do any of you love it when your family makes you breakfast in bed? One of my favorite food personalities is Rhee Drummond, aka The Pioneer Woman. Her recipes are no fail and oh so yummy. Maybe you can hint to your family this is what you want to wake up to Mother’s Day morn’. Check out her delish post on breakfast in bed for Mom! You won’t regret all the yummy goodness you can request on your special day!

And how can we not mention flowers? As the old saying goes, April showers bring May Flowers. Being that Mother’s Day around the corner (can you tell I can’t wait?), I have roses on my mind. Look at these beautiful Mr. Lincoln red roses from my garden. The scent that wafts through the room when the roses are on display is simply heavenly! Right now, full spring blooms are on sale at local nurseries, perhaps a Mother’s Day Sunday stroll with the family would provide some outdoor family fun too!

Ok, I didn’t think I would mention interiors, but who am I kidding, I am design obsessed, like you! I got the most fabulous side table this week at Target. They are killin’ it with the whole global living space decor!  The hammered metal table top adds immediate visual depth and interest to any space you put it in. I am willing to bet whatever you put on top will be displayed ten times more bright because of the contrast metal lends itself to with softer textures like this tasseled pillow and glass beads I got from the Rose Bowl Flea Market. 

As the weather warms up, I find myself looking for sundresses. Effortless, easy to wear and light layers to stay cool.  This new dress from Splendid fits the bill perfectly! It’s lined and offers a multi geometric, delicate tribal print that is visually appealing and flattering with a fun cut out. I love how it flows when I walk. I feel easy breezy summery in it.

I love how you can pair it up with a cute hat and sandals, and voila, you are ready for your sun kissed day! Right now Splendid is having a spring sale!
