The great weather has me all hyped up and I want to spend as much time outside as possible. So I thought it would be fun to share some outdoor living spaces with you!
I am quick to admit that our backyard is an ideal size but not ideal in design, with so many interior projects, the outdoor projects have been put on the back burner.
But dreaming about Pinterest worthy outdoor spaces is so much fun!
Let’s take a look at some of my favorites!
One Room Challenge Patio
My friend Joanna recently participated in the One Room Challenge and transformed her small outdoor space into a minimalist design dream!
She has the perfect balance between clean lines – adding just enough pattern and color to make it interesting.
Her new patio furniture is inviting and layers great textiles and materials.
Joanna’s shelfie game has always been strong.
This one isn’t any different even though it’s outside! Isn’t that metal chicken cute?
Her fiancé Sean helped build the fence and I’m totally obsessed with it!
The mid century look with black paint? Gah! The best! And we definitely can’t ignore her three little chickie pies! Adorable.
Room for Tuesday Carport Transformation
I love Sarah’s new converted carport makeover so much! She has a knack for DIYs and this space was a great project.
Aren’t her three fur babies the best? She mentioned that this has been a great space for them to hang out too.
My oldest daughter would looooove to have a pup like hers and its tempting to say yes when I see her cute doggies.
Ahem, sorry, I easily get off topic when I see cute pets! You get it right?
Who would have thought a dated carport could be transformed into such an unbelievable space?
Absolutely incredible! I am in love with what Sarah designed here.
Ok, one more pretty view because it’s just too good!
I love both Joanna and Sarah’s spaces because they use pops of black paint effectively.
It’s not always an easy choice. Too dark and it looks heavy and dysfunctional.
But in just the right places, it add the visual pop any space deserves.
Casa Joshua Tree Dream Patio
My dear friend Lyndsay has the most amazing desert dwelling in Joshua Tree.
As you know, the desert has my heart.
I love, love love the desert vibes and I will never ever get tired of going there.

Her new patio is simply a daydreamer’s dream!
Did you know Lyndsay’s home is also an airbnb? If you want a incredible desert stay, this is where you need to book!

I love it when my favorite photographers and my favorite friends partner up! Here is Marise’s rendition of Lyndsay’s patio.

This picture immediately transports me to her patio. I simply wouldn’t want to leave!

Lyndsay has the perfect artistic touch when designing her home.
What used to be a dirt floor, she transformed into blush toned concrete (hello?!) and added an outdoor rug and seating area that would have me sitting there for daaaaays.
So! Which space is your favorite?
What part of your backyard do you want to tackle this summer?
My goal? I seriously want to re-stain the concrete area.
But it is ALOT of work to do it myself. So…maybe next summer?
Either way it’s never a waste of time to gather inspiration and tuck them away into our design folders for just the right time!
Happy day!
