So as my design journey in the desert room progresses, you can see lately it has all the autumn vibes.
Target Nightstands
And you see that nice nightstand? It’s from Target and they don’t sell it anymore. Click here though, I found one by Target that is a look alike!
I’ve learned that when you really like something, especially from Target, just buy two. Because now I am in another design dilemma!
Surprised? Ha, didn’t think so!
There is time for symmetry and time to mix and match. What is your vote?
For me, time symmetry is winning in this room.
Dream Nightstands
Want to see my dream nightstand???

*sigh* Em Henderson says these tables are her spirit animal. Well…dare I say they are mine too?
But look at the price tag….

Ughs. Waaaaaay out of my budget! So a huntin’ I will go!
First, I need to decide what will go well with the brass spindle bed. Because it is metal, I think a different element like wood would be nice.
I also need to decide on shape and style. Am I looking for modern, mid-century or a farmhouse feel?
Last, it needs to fit in the budget. Someday I can purchase my spirit animals stands but for now I want to stay under $300.
Let’s go find some together!
3 affordable night stands
This article by the ever fab Emily Henderson also helped me pair down what kind of look might go well with my bed. After reading it, I realized I actually prefer a more traditional night stand.
Because the spindles give a light and airy feel, I feel design wise, a more substantial anchor is needed on each side of the bed to balance the space.
I looked at more traditional features such as a drawer on top and square legs and a solid back instead of spindle legs and open back.

My first stop was Target. Of course right? With their new Project 62 line, how can anyone not consider it?
This nightstand is quite substantial and has a modern feel. Not too traditional. And pricing is rad at $129.99 per table. Not bad!

Then I headed to Joss & Main. Look at this beauty!
The price is only $85 a stand! My only concern is that I can’t see the wood tone in person. It may be more orange than I like.

Third, I found this stand on Anthropologie. And I know what you’re thinking!! Hey, Anita! No way it’s going to be under $300! Annnnnd you are RIGHT. LOL. But, just for design’s sake, I am going to show you anyways. Cos we can dream can’t we?
Ok, so I am obsessed with this nightstand for a few reasons. 1) It’s light and bright which fits right into the room’s aesthetics. 2) It has wood and brass added in a very subtle but impactful manner. And 3) it feels substantial. Remember that is a important factor I wanted to balance the spindle bed with?
Sigh. Now to decide. (Me tapping my chin) Hmmm….
You will have to find out soon enough! Stay tuned my design besties! I would love to hear your ideas too, feel free to drop me a line and chat!
Happy day!
Do you remember the name and/or style of that nightstand from target that was discontinued? It’s LITERALLY the exact one I want. I’m even contacting target about it. I know this post is from two years ago but I gotta try lol
ughs I’m so sorry! I don’t!
