You guys! I am thrilled to introduce my first home tour on the blog. Casa Joshua Tree is an awe inspiring art studio and Airbnb to the lovely Lindsay Hollinger. I started following Casa Joshua Tree shortly starting my Instagram account and I was completely stunned by the desert magic coming from this home. I am not joking or exaggerating. It was a feast for my design soul.
Fast forwards several months and the most incredible opportunity came for me to attend the Indigo Shibori workshop held at Casa Joshua Tree taught by the extraordinary Graham Keegan. You can see this post for more details on my experience.
Desert inspired abode: Casa Joshua Tree
Today I wanted to give you a tour of Casa Joshua Tree. Perhaps you will be inspired to visit the desert and find your own creative magic!
When you walk in through the blush and pastel geo pattern painted door, the desert vibe hits you strong but in the most peaceful and subtle way. Lindsay has managed to decorate her home in the most simplest of forms but it is straight to the point and her design game is strong. It seems as if she know exactly where to guide your eye and heart.
As you can see here, her entry way is warm and inviting. She gifted workshop attendees favor bags to take home after a long day of being creative.
In anticipation of a hosting a large group, Lindsay re-arranged her furniture to fit the flow of traffic. This is the beauty of design, if you pick your pieces right (not necessarily matchy matchy) it can flow together in any space you move around. This speaks directly to my addiction of constant re-arrangement of furniture. The spice of life!

Look at this wonderfully quaint but uber functional kitchen. Lindsay mentioned that just a can of white paint transformed the whole space into something new and fresh.
Next, the sliding doors to your left lead you to the backyard. Below is Lindsay showing us the wonderful Shibori we made. *Sigh* It was a wonderful day to say the least!
As I made my way to the back of the house, the small guest bathroom was a delight! I loved the hanging branch.

Down the hallway, there are two bedrooms and a office space. Isn’t amazing how Lindsay even found a way to make the end of a hallway look fabulous and inviting? So simple but impactful. It all speaks home to me.
As we all took breaks from our Shibori dye making, I would take my camera and steal away a few minutes here and there to take pictures. One of my favorite moments was quietly peeking into this bedroom and seeing old man Hew, Lindsay’s beloved cat 16 year old kitty, sitting in bed taking what else? A cat nap.
He must really like me because he meowed and slowly came up to me for some love.
To my left was the other equally stunning bedroom. Lindsay’s use of the desert sunset colors was apparent here. Vibrant oranges, yellows and browns adorned the bed and dotted the room in various decor accents. I especially loved the bronze eye lights from Urban Outfitters.
And this Hygge & West wallpaper that Lindsay installed herself? OBSESSED.
Did you know Lindsay is a artist too? Her watercolor art is beautiful! I love the desert minimalist vibe in here.

If you want to see more of Lindsay’s home, Apartment Therapy also features of Casa Joshua Tree.
Last but not least, I want to sincerely mention that Lindsay was the hostess of the mostess. You know how sometimes you instameet and there is a connection? But you wonder, well how would it be IRL? The minute we gave each other a warm hug, it was for reals people.
I can honestly say Lindsay is a friend and inspiration to me! For months my office/guest room sat bare with a new bed frame and some pillows. It was getting quite frustrating. I came back from the desert full of magical design energy and it is taking shape! I am sooooo excited to show you soon! Stay tuned, you won’t want to miss it!
Now off to finding some gypsum rosettes (first item on the left). Have you seen these? If you know where to get some, drop me a line. I’m dying to get some!!
Happy day!
Whoa. This home is ridiculously gorgeous. Such gorgeous details and so inspiring. Makes me want to do a little redo like this.
