Well, thankfully I still had enough energy to finish the accent wall in my bedroom. A little hard to convince Travis that the Victorian Peacock removable wallpaper was an absolute mind blowing design. Ha! Poor dude.
You are probably wondering, “Wait, Anita! What does your wallpaper look like? I am dying to know!”
Well, I am going to warn you. It is a wild one. When I first decided I wanted to try removable wallpaper, my cautious side took over. However, the variety of prints Walls Need Love offered quickly changed my mind.
Since I am a light and bright person, you would think I would go that route again. Wrong! I am also a HUGE fan of the dark, sultry look. Many of my IG design besties tout dark and moody yet fun rooms. I want to go and visit them so bad!
As I scrolled through hundreds of options, this wildly fun yet stunningly beautiful wallpaper pattern,Victorian Peacock in black, immediately got all my heart eyes. It was love at first sight.

TOP 5 Wall Sconces
I am obsessed, to say the least, with wall sconces. One can instantly finish a design with a traditional, stately feel or give an off beat quirky vibe that invites you to relax in bed all day long. Whatever visual cue you want to give in a room, wall sconces can add to it in a heart beat.
Initially, because the print is so busy and fun, I wanted a metal that would contrast. However, some other colors like white and black caught my eye too.
- White is always a fun way to pop color against a bold background. This Celine sconce from Urban Outfitters would really stand out. The shape also lends to a feminine design. And instead of brass, the copper would play off the blush toned flowers. Something that would be surprisingly pretty!
2. I am obsessed with pops of black in the home. Never thought I would be because in the early 2000s I thought I swore off black clothing and design. But I have rediscovered how it can provide the perfect spotlight a room needs. Isn’t this one amazing?
3. The round milk glass sconces you see surfacing on everyone’s Pinterest board is another winner. This one seems perfect against my vintage wallpaper.
4. I love brass. So when I saw this full on brass sconce, well, let’s just say my design heart did the jig. Because my wallpaper is floral and feminine, adding masculinity in accent decor is essential to balance. The hard lines and shape of this sconce make it a great option.
5. Double sconces work well in a bedroom because it gives off much needed ample light. For us, this is especially helpful. We do not have any recessed lighting in this room. When I got rid of the hideous Tommy Bahama gargantuan ceiling fan from the previous owners, I opted for a very sleek minimalist fan. No light either. So with this sconce, we would not need to worry about stubbing our toes in the middle of the night.
