I have three girls. Yep, three. Ha, are you laughing to yourself while thinking of the future costs of prom dresses and weddings? Our household definitely has a lot of estrogen running around, but thankfully, Travis has enough testosterone to balance all of us out!
My oldest has her own style now, so she has definite ideas about how she wants her room to look. Which makes it harder to do the home shuffle. But my younger two love it when Mommy says, “Hey girls! How about we switch up the wall here?” Or “Move your toys to this corner?” I hope I never lose this kind of design connection with my girls. It will be fun to see how it evolves.
Little Girls’ Shared Room
You can guess where this post is leading…yep, its time for a little girls room refresh!
I’ve had two kantha quilts from Habitation Boheme for some time now and the girls’ room is the perfect place to use them. The girls love the vintage patterns and colors. You need to check her shoppe out. She has the loveliest home decor that will add texture and color to your home instantly!
A peek of the girls’ room last Christmas.
Isn’t it a darling picture? All three have such cute personalities.
Since then, we have taken down the chevron hot pink curtains. They were just too loud for the constant home shuffle so I sold them.
Currently, I have some wonderful ideas but I thought I would share the inspo I found along the way with you, my design besties!
Hanging Chairs
If you have followed me for awhile now, you know my penchant for hanging chairs.

The girls have a small rug in between their beds just like this one! As much as I would love another hanging chair in this home, my budget prevents me from getting another one anytime soon. Never say never though!
Colorful Boho Shag Rugs
Speaking of rugs, another must have for any room makeover is a area rug. Be it the focal point or subtle accents to layer and add depth to the space, you need one for sure! Even for children’s rooms!

This beautiful, colorful yummy-licious West Elm rug from my sweet friend Sara for her little children is simply divine! The unicorn wall hang is from Target too. What don’t they design these days?
Kids Storage Solutions
As any room begs for usually, its more storage space. Add more than one gremlin in the room? Welp, you have a storage crisis most likely.

I love shelving that looks organic, effortless and functional. These fit the bill just right. Having some open shelves for easy access to play for the win too!

I love this room so much. So much effortless access for the kids to play with yet organized and every item has a HOME.
Have you heard of this organizational catch phrase? I heard it from a friend years ago and I have adopted it as my mantra ever since.
Have you seen these Triangle DIY shelving? I am obsessed. I know, I know, I say that a lot. But its true!!! Currently thinking of a way to fit this into some kind of design for my clients living room space.

Another room essential for kiddos is a small play area or desk.

I love showing you boys’ rooms because god knows you get enough pink and girly designs from me!
Last but not least, I am so excited to reveal the girls’ bedroom makeover! I love a good hack and my version of a IKEA hack for their Sinnerlig is pretty cool!! All I did was hot glue the tassels to the base of the lamp. Voila, a very distinct and visual element in the room. Making it playful and colorful was my goal!
Last thing for this room is the side table in between the beds. Ughs, designing just never ends for me and I am not mad one bit!
Happy day!
